On February the Council for technical assistance in Crimea will begin to work. The deputy minister of economic development and trade of Crimea Olga Krivenko has reported about it at the press conference in Simferopol.

 

   According to information by the deputy minister, the council will be created as a collegial body with representatives of the Government of Crimea, the most important and major projects and programs of the international technical assistance (ITA), international and public organizations together with which projects can be implemented. In particular, it is expected that representatives of the UN, European Union, the project of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) "Local Investment and National Competitiveness" (LINK), the German Office for International Cooperation (GIZ) will be included in the council.

 

 

   The council is created to coordinate the work of international organizations in Crimea, to determine the most important problems of socio-economic development of autonomy, which can be solved with the assistance of donor funding. "We hope that our initiatives and intentions by donors in many positions will be the same as a result of this council," - noted the deputy minister.

 

   It is planned that the meetings of the council will be held at least 1 time per month. The minister of economic development and trade of Crimea Svetlana Verba will coordinate its work.

 

   In addition, Olga Krivenko reported that in 2012 the ministry continues to work with agreements of projects and programs of the ITA. It is planned to sign such documents with other 4 international organizations at the first quarter of this year.
